Insert Greek characters into .html files:
First, I use Word to write out the instructions (laboratory exercise, mathematical derivation, whatever), inserting Greek as needed, and Save as the usual .doc file. I then "Save as" .html. Note that equation editor objects are treated like images upon conversion.
Using the FrontPage editor, I "Insert" the .html previously saved into the new page. Then, from the File menu, select Page Properties. From the Page Properties tabs, select Language. Select as HTML coding for Saving this page the choice of Multilingual (UTF-8).
Now I "Open" the .doc file in Word. I find a line in the .html (FrontPage window) that did not convert. I "copy" that line from the .doc file (Word window) and "paste" into the .html file (FrontPage window) - and delete the improperly converted lines.
There must be an easier way to do this, let me know when you discover it. Perhaps setting the Language before bringing in a .doc file? Watch for updates -
